An International
BrassWorks Featured Project:
Seneca Allegany Casino
Location:
Seneca Allegany Casino,
Salamanca, NY |
| |
Project Overview:
Custom built Railings at Stairs
and Radius Balcony Rails. |
| |
The Task:
To Complete in 6 weeks, Phase
1 of the Rails at the Stairs and Escalators, approx; 130'-0"
Linear feet of Custom Rails with a 2 ½" Bronze
capping.
To fabricate Phase 2, both The Balcony Curved Rail and
The Guard Rail at the Top of the Escalators, in a total
of 6 weeks.
| |
Requirements:
Custom Powder Coated curved steel
panels rolled to a specific radius that is continuous
with mitered ends of rail returning to the wall. The capped
top hand rail being a 3" O.D. single slotted Bronze
extrusion tube, which was used both on the Balcony and
on the Guard Rail at the sides of the Escalator. |
| |
Special Features / Materials:
The 3" Bronze extrusion had to
be annealed then rolled to the required radius without distorting
the shape or the actual contour of the tube itself. Both sets
of railings had to have mitered corners welded, for the transitions
that occurred in the angled position of the Balcony and the
Viewing area of the Guardrail. Plus, all 3" Bronze capping
to be finished in Brushed Satin on a longitudinal plane, with
a Clear Powder Coat protective applied.

| |
Unique Challenges:
This project included meeting stringent
State Building Codes in producing all rails to pass said codes,
and in having a P.Eng; stamp all drawings prior to fabrication.
| |
IBWorks Solutions:
Extended valued engineering alternatives,
in order to meet and exceed Building codes. Additional structural
applications, that where approved by both customer and architect.
