Online tool helps specifiers choose powder coatings
colors for food display and potable water equipment
(CLEVELAND - June 8, 2007) - A new online color selector
is now available from Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings Division
to assist coatings specifiers in selecting powder coatings
in both NSF/ANSI Standard 51 colors for food display equipment
such as salad bars, buffet tables, and food mixing/preparation
housings, and NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Colors for valves, fittings,
tanks and pipe used for potable (drinking) water.

in PDF format. Shown are eighteen NSF Standard 51 and six
NSF Standard 61 colors, plus a clearcoat in each powder coating
formulation.
For the food and beverage and industry, Sherwin-Williams
Chemical Coatings offers many NSF-51 certified coatings. The
formulations of these coatings, most of which are hybrids,
combine the durable film properties of an epoxy with the overbake
stability of a polyester. These coatings offer excellent transfer
efficiency and rapid film build, allowing for complete coverage
and protection in hard-to-reach areas such as recesses and
corners.
For the potable water industry, POWDURA NSF-61 coatings provide
a high gloss, smooth finish with excellent hardness and outstanding
chemical resistance properties. These coatings are recommend
for application to potable water equipment such as storage
tanks, valves, fittings, commercial and domestic drinking
water dispensers, desalination units, military potable water
supply equipment and for wastewater treatment equipment.
